Zeiger has a research and clinical focus on LGBTQ+ and other underserved populations, identity development, trauma, and inclusive health care. Their recent published research has included How the Compulsory Gender Binary Language in the DSM-5’s Category of Sexual Interest Disorders Interacts Negatively with Patients’ Nonbinary and Genderqueer Identities (Zeiger & Ball, 2022) in Sexuality & Culture and Loss of safe spaces: Ambiguous loss and minority stressors of BIPOC LGBTQ+ communities amidst the covid-19 pandemic (Gutierrez et al., 2024) in Sexual and Gender Diversity in Social Services.
Zeiger has a PhD in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Iowa and is working toward a Master’s in Educational Measurement and Statistics (ABT). They hold a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Science, with a clinical concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Central Missouri. They are a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Iowa and Wisconsin, as well as being a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP).
